Biography

Ray F. Lin (Jui-Feng Lin/林瑞豐) was born in 1977 in Tayoung, Taiwan. He received his B.S. degree in 1999 and his M.S. degree in 2001, from the Department of Industrial Engineering & Management, Chaoyang University of Technology where he found his love of continuously learning and doing research. After fulfilling his two-year military service in 2004, he started his doctoral program in the Department of Industrial & systems Engineering, University at Buffalo and completed the Ph.D. program in September, 2009. In the University at Buffalo, Ray F. Lin continued his interests in the field of Human Factors and studied the relationships of speed-accuracy tradeoffs in performing hand-control movements. By integrating more than fifty years of relevant research, he made a significant contribution of proposing a movement control model that well demonstrates how the speed-accuracy tradeoff relationship results from our human motor system. Since August, 2009, Ray F. Lin has been working in the Department of Industrial Engineering & Management, Yuan Ze University. Lin is glad that he could join this wonderful environment where he can fulfill his goals: making positive impacts to students, doing excellent research, and cooperating with industries. Three courses that Lin is teaching are Work Study, Human Factors, and Usability Engineering. He makes efforts to inspire students' interests in learning and he enjoys the interaction with students. By extending Ph.D. work, Ray F. Lin is promoting a developed methodology to evaluate a variety of hand-control movements in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. Furthermore, he is applying Human Factors to product design and healthcare system.
